MEDICAL CENTER BUILDINGS

There is once again a relatively large development proposal on the table which will, if built, have a very great impact on the character and density of our beloved little hamlet.  It's the proposed Medical Center Complex on a vacant lot next to the Wilson Elementary School (see Teton County Staff Report Recommends Denial).  Meet to discuss the new buildings on Wednesday, November 16th at 5:30 PM in the Old Wilson Schoolhouse (see MEETING NOTICE and TIM'S COMMENTS).  We urge you to speak formally at the Planning Commission meeting on Monday, November 21 (see COMMENT FORM).

FIRST ISSUE!

The Wilson Advisory Committee published the first issue of The Wilson Tribune. Go the ARTICLES/NEWSLETTERS page to get your own copy and read about the downtown crosswalk and a sign contest. Also, find out if someone is "trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the Planning Department."

CROSSWALK APPROVED!

Thanks to the efforts of our members and our steering committee, and particularly to Commissioner Jim Darwiche and Pathways Coordinator Jim Chandler, we will now have a safer pedestrian zone in downtown Wilson. the new crossing will be painted (when temperature permits) next to Ida Lane, between the Post Office and the Bank.

This is only the beginning. Signage will be added to help make drivers aware that downtown Wilson is for pedestrians, not just for drive-through traffic.
