ACTION UPDATE

Teton County Planning Commissioners approve amendment

By a 3 to 1 vote, the Planning Commission passed our proposal to amend the County Comprehensive Plan, at their regular meeting on September 8.

This amendment will incorporate much of the work that came out of Wilson’s Planning Charrette two years ago.

What will this amendment do?

1. Protect the rural character of Wilson by implementing the Mixed Use Village Concept.  This will limit sprawl, make sure that buildings look and function in a way that fits in with Wilson’s history and character, and promote policy guidelines for developing future Land Development Regulations

2.  Implement the 2000 Charrette transportation plan.  This would create a safe and friendly environment for pedestrians, bicycles and cars and would include green space medians and turning lanes.

Read the entire amendment by going to
www.wilsonadvisory.org

Or by calling the
Teton County Planning Staff at:
733-3959

PLEASE NOTE: On October 7, the County Commissioners must still consider our application for final approval.
